Stats & Facts:
During the South East Asia Tour in 1991 the equipment supplier of the Australian U20 national kit has been Otto & Tango (at different times it had different names but the same logo).
Peter Tsekenis began his career with the Australian youth team (Young Socceroos, U20) in 1992 before joining the Olyroos squad in 1994. It was here that Peter celebrated possibly his greatest success in the national team kit when he scored the opener goal (1-0) against Saudi Arabian during the Summer Olympics (Atlanta 1996) and the group game was won 2-1 in the end.

Stats & Facts:
We stronlgy believe this jersey has been used straight before the 1992 Summer Olympics in Spain have started when the team of the Olyroos played 3 friendly matches in Germany and the Netherlands. The Olyroos achieved some great results at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Although they have lost their tournament opener vs Ghana (1-3), the team could get a point against Mexico (1-1) and a strong victory over Denmark (3-0) which meant to reach the quarterfinals. There, the Olyroos faced Sweden with another victory (2-1) which brought the team to the semi-finals against Poland (6-1) that was too strong at that day to move even to the grand-final. The Olyroos lost the bronze medal play-off match against Ghana but finished a very credible fourth for the tournament.

Australia again has worn a strange jersey design, this time by the French sportswear brand called Patrick (founded by Patrick Beneteau in 1892). This kit was only used for both friendly matches; most of the match worn shirts had a black coloured supplier logo but a few had a white coloured supplier logo as well.

Stats & Facts:
After a three years partnership with the equipment supplier Kingroo, followed by one season kit, the Australian Soccer Federation has signed a new contract again with Adidas. One of the first important games was the World Cup qualifying match vs Canada for the road to the World Cup hosted in USA. After a 1-2 loss away in Edmonton the Socceroos have equalized this result with an own 2-1 win at home after 90 minutes. A penalty shootout was needed to select the final winner. The Socceroos keeper was able saving two penalties which made the difference on that day. Senior newcomer Mark Schwarzer became the match day hero and Australia advance to play Argentina for the final World Cup spot. It shouldn't have been the last time in Australia's World Cup qualify history that Mark Schwarzer saves another two penalties during a penalty shootout.

To qualify for the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the Socceroos had to compete in two playoff games against football giant Argentina. Until today, both games are among the best performances of the Australian national team, even if you only narrowly failed to qualify for the World Cup in the end. Eddie Thomson's team first fought 1-1 in the first leg on home ground and ultimately failed due to a deflected goal in the second leg in Buenos Aires, with just under 60,000 spectators. Football world star Maradona swapped his jersey with Australian midfielder Robbie Slater, who never lost sight of Diego in both games.

That jersey was definitely „a special one“ Adidas has released when football took over the cosmos. The match has also been the first meet between both countries and the team in Green & Gold has always been the winner.

Stats & Facts:
It was the first and only Golden goal the Socceroos were ever able to score in football history. This time in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final match against the "Urus" by our "Golden Boy" Harry Kewell. Harry just needed 2 minutes (1min, 16seconds) in extra time to win the game with his shot outside the box. The very first Golden goal has been scored by Young Socceroo (U20) Anthony Carbone in the 1993 FIFA Youth Championshop match against Uruguay. The last ever scored Golden goal of the Asutralian national team has been scored by forward Damian Mori against Tahiti during the 2002 Oceania Nations Cup (OFC) semi-finals. It hasn't been the proper Socceroos squad, but a selection of locally based players who played the OFC tournament in New Zealand.

Stats & Facts:
This jersey could also have been worn by Australia's U23 or U20 team, as no shirt name is given. Midfielder Craig Foster usually wore the number 8 in his Socceroos matches, so we believe this jersey belongs to him, although it may never have been used for a match without a shirt name.

Stats & Facts:
Daniel Allsopp became the hero of that match with his last minute goal to secure passage into the final 16. The young Socceroos had to face Argentina in the final group game which was an epic match with a 4-3 victory and 4 goals of Kosta Salapasidis; again a last minute goal (90min). But that clash has cost too much energy and the young 'Roos were too tired to beat Japan in their final 16 match.

Stats & Facts:
This goalkeeper jersey was worn in this color in the match against New Zealand with the number 1 by Kalac. However, as this jersey is signed by Mark Schwarzer, it could also have been intended for the match against Scotland (November 15th, 2000). In this game, however, the yellow jersey variant was chosen. The sleeves were subsequently cut off by the previous owner to make it easier to hang in a jersey frame.

The first Socceroos home kit when the green colour dominates the jersey compared to the part of the gold/yellow colour. For football fans this kit style reminds us to the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. Australia has worn this longsleeve jersey during the game against Scotland and was able to win that match by two goals. It was the only win ever Australia achieved against „The Bravehearts“ till today (2024).

The upcoming match might become a draw which has to end 2-2 of course. Time to bid!
